Enhancing Enterprise Resource Planning: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in SAP S/4HANA

ERP systems have become the most important systems supporting companies’ functional and operational processes to increase a company’s competitiveness. SAP S/4HANA is a top ERP solution that has simplified operations through the in-memory computing system. However, modern technological sophistication in Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made various developments that have increased automation, technical means of analytics, and intelligent decision-making. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze the integration of AI into SAP S/4HANA with regard to business process, data analysis, and usage view. In this paper, the use of AI, machine learning models, NLP, and RPA in relation to SAP S/4HANA is explored in detail. The next section provides examples of organizations using artificial intelligence in the SAP S/4HANA to operate and transform their business. The paper ends with a focus on the limitations and the possible development concerns of AI-based ERP systems
